Before Enrollment for NCLEX

Before you can actually take the NCLEX-PN exam, you will ahve to get an Authorization to Test (ATT). To get the ATT, you will have to apply to your state board of nursing and then register through the (NCSBN) National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Typically the cost is around $200. If you take advantage of this time it has been proven that it benefits the test taker greatly. As part of your preparation for the NCLEX-PN, you may want to look over the NCLEX Candidate Bulletin and get yourself acclimated with the test layout.

Tips for Scheduling the NCLEX

Once you have received your Authorization to Test (ATT) email, you can now register to take your NCLEX-PN test. This can be done online or by phone. Also, you may want to take a look at the NCSBN web site for test sites. Test centers can fill up quickly. Once you register for a specific date and time, you will receive more detailed information about the test by email. Don’t wait until your ATT is close to expiration to schedule your exam or you may have to reregister and repay.
